Feelin Good in 20

posted in: Exercise

Ladies can I be open and honest with you? Sometimes I can get irritable, emotional and just seems as if every little thing gets on my last nerve. It normally only happens around that time of the month, so I try to prepare myself (and my husband) by looking within and not letting it get out of hand. Some would call it PSM (premenstrual syndrome). I call it “Get you act together.” Yes there are physiologic things that cause women to act like that but why do we make others deal with our issues?

Today was one of those days. Uggh! Was all I can say. It was difficult to have a quiet and non- complaining spirit.  As hard as I tried to look within and see what was causing me to be in a “bad mood” I realized that it’s up to me to get my emotions under control. So after I was able to vent, (thank God for an understanding and loving husband) I took and nap and then prepared myself for my spin class despite still feeling down and full of emotions.

Off to the gym I go, not really wanting to but I have a commitment that I have to fulfill twice a week. After 20 minutes on the stair master I felt a little better. Then after my spin class I felt totally renewed, happy, and energized.  Why? When you exercise you trigger certain chemical reactions that lead to release of hormones called endorphins. Endorphins stimulate the body during the workout plus they are responsible for the euphoric feeling that you encounter as you work out. Endorphins are the body’s natural pain reliever that can give you a natural high feeling. The body sometimes senses exercise as pain (and it can be :-) ) and in response to that pain endorphins are released. But order to experience this natural high you have to do moderate intensity exercise at 60-80% for at least 20-30 min.

So ladies, the next time you feel sad, depressed or emotional get to moving and watch how good you feel. Exercise gives a natural high that just may lead to an addiction. Enjoy your workout!

Very helpful info. Thanks a lot! I have read a few of your other articles and they are all newsworthy and illuminating – preserve the good work. Again thank you for all the detail.

I am a working mom in my mid 40-ties from the Midwest, and running is my hobby. Therefore, I have to deal with back pain a lot. After I did run my last run I had to stop for a while. It was hurting terribly. Now I am recovering from back pain, because I followed the advice I found here: Get Back Pain Relief Now (Grab Your Free Pain Relief Guide!)

Jesse Canonne, the founder of The Healthy Back Institute, recently publicized his brand new book titled “The 7 Day Back Pain Cure” and for the moment you can get it for FREE. Get a FREE copy. And hurry – that offer might be taken of the market at any time!

Thank you again and carry on your good work and much success!

Hej! Fine post. I find this info useful. Thanks a lot! Great advice here – people should never take for granted that their back problems will just disappear – as they won’t. Again thank you for the useful thoughts.

I am an average mid 20-ties working mom from Northwest Pennsylvania, and my sport hobby is running. Hence, I have to suffer from back pain quite often. After I did run my last marathon I had to take a time-out. It was hurting terribly. Now I have thankfully made a return to running. I followed the advice I found here: Back Pain Advisory: How to Finally Get Lasting Pain Relief (Download Your Free Pain Relief Guide!)

The founder of The Healthy Back Institute, Jesse Canonne, lately published his new book titled “The 7 Day Back Pain Cure” and for the moment you can get it for FREE. Grab a Cost-free copy. And hurry – the offer can be taken from the market at any time!

Thanks again and keep up your solid work and much success!

    LaMonica,

I totally agree, when I was at my athletic peak I was addicted to the endorphins and when I did not work out I had difficulties balancing my emotions. Since I started back working out (Tuesday) my body is learning to re-adjust to “constant movement”, I know as I am working out I am aiming towards a better heart, mind, body, and soul, everything truly balances out all for the good. As the old rap song says “Ain’t Nothing to it, but to do it” I’m so glad I have another opportunity each new day to do my part in making my life’s journey better with a single step in the right direction through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Keep on moving Ladies.
